This event is co-organized by the Musée National Picasso and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. The exhibition will be at the Virginia Museum in Richmond (U-S-A). Tickets are available now. Jimmy the painting chimp draws hordes to Rio zoo
My news is about a chimpanzee. His name is Jimmy and he is 26 years old. This chimpazee painted a cardboard ar the Niteroi zoo in Rio de Janeiro on Monday (september 20th). Everyone was surprised when they saw this ape in action. Jimmy is very popular. Before, he was a circus chimpanzee but now he is retired. Seba, his trainer, discovered 3 weeks ago that Jimmy didn't like the toys that other chimps enjoyed. It's for this reason that Seba introduced him to the painting. Since this time, at least 30 minutes a day, Jimmy puts his brush into plastic paint bottles and he creates his art on a cardboard. Sometimes, when they are a lot of people in front of his cage, he doesn't want to paint. He is an artist. It's him who decides when he wants to paint. An exhibition for Jimmy the chimpanzee is already in the works. Since 3 weeks, Jimmy has been producing a painting each day!
Virtual fire by Thyra Hilden and Pio Diaz to rage in the Colosseum for art
Thyra Hilden and Piuz Diaz are two artists. They staged an art installation in Rome. They made a dramatic art spectacle which simulated a big fire in Rome's ancient Colosseum. In fact, they used video projections to create virtual flames. The Colosseum was a famous monument from the ancient world because there were a lot of spectacles like gladiator fights and animal shows. However, since the recent years, this monument was neglected. People are wondering how much time the Colosseum can still remain standing. "This monument is a very strong symbol of the Western culture" said Hilden. Thyra and Piuz decided to make this project because they wanted to show the cultural significance and at the same time, the fragility of the monument. In fact, they wanted to symbolize destruction and creation at the same time. This event happened during the last week-end (september 17th, 18th, 19th).

8 year-old boy is U.K's newest art sensation
Kieron Williamson is 8 years old and he is a young artist. He lives in England and this little boy makes paintings and drawings which are extraordinary for his young age. In his latest exhibition, his 33 paintings were sold within half an hour, for a total of $243,000 Canadien. Buyers spent the night outside the gallery to be sure to have a painting. Kieron paints particularly impressionistic landscapes (pastels, watercolours, and oil paintings) and it's for this reason that we call him "mini Monet" (Claude Monet was an impressionist painter). Kieron has already a website and a business card, but he is fine and happy with that. However, his parents (Michelle and Keith) are anxious, but also proud of their son. When he asked to his parents pencils and paper for the first time, they were surprised because Kieron was a sportive boy. At 5 years old, he made an accomplished drawing of boats in a harbour. This little boy who is self-confident wants to be painter and footballer in the future. His parents said that they will always be there to support him whatever his profession is. In short, Kieron is a famous boy and a lot of journalists from different places travel to England to interview him!
